Hey all,

Just thought I would catch everyone up as to the past week. Last Monday, Kari and I set out on the road to spend some quality time together in lovely Dryden, NY to stay at a quaint little Bed and Breakfast named The Candlelight Inn. I booked us the Fireplace Suite, which consisted of a main sitting room/living room with a TV and a GREAT fireplace, a bedroom featuring a SOFT queen sized bed, and a nice bathroom with a 2 person hot tub. It was a 250 mile trip and we got there a lot sooner than expected, and that included rest stops, including [info]kari4yay's new favorite Gas Station/food mart Sheetz. When we knocked on the door, Doris, our amazing host, told us we were very early and we should go get some lunch. Kari and I went over to a local diner, the A-1, and we had a big meal. We returned about an hour later and were given the grand tour. Even better than the pictures. Kari and I unloaded the car and settled in. After a few unsuccessful tries at lighting the fire, Kari decided to try out the hot tub. I gave up on the fire after a few more tries, and we hit the sack.

Tuesday, we woke up and showered and dressed and went out for breakfast. OMG. We were presented with many options, including coffee and tea. I'm a coffee man, so that was easy. Kari was a little overwhelmed by the tea options, but she went for Irish breakfast tea. We then got a great fruit platter with oranges, bananas, and strawberries. After that was orange rolls. Then came the main course of scrambled eggs with cheese and scallions. GREAT. After breakfast, Doris gave us some maps for around Ithaca, and we went out. We toured a local waterfall named Buttermilk Falls. Kari had never seen a waterfall before, and was amazed. Now of course, we have to go back in the summer when we can hike the trails (the trails to the falls are closed due to people dying by slipping on ice and dying) and go swimming in the basin. After that, we trekked to Ithaca and toured the commons, bought some items (I wasn't allowed to go into a head shop because Kari thought it would make me want to go back to some bad habits), stopped by a local mall to pick up some supplies (I also plunked 50 cents into one of those claw machines and won Kari a good luck care bear. We stopped by another diner for dinner, the Queen diner, which was not as good as the A-1, but it was food. We went back, I started a fire, watched The Shield, and after a little fun, we slept again.

Wednesday, we woke up, and for breakfast, Kari tried out her new FAVORITE tea, English Breakfast. We had cranberry/orange scones, a grapefruit based fruit platter, and blueberry pancakes. We decided to crash all day, and except for trying to get Chinese food (place didn't take Visa, went for subs instead), we never left the room. We started the fire at about 1pm, and it went all the way to 10pm. We watched some bad movies (Johnny Mnemonic & Monster in Law, and some good ones Real Genius. We enjoyed the hot tub together for awhile (No need to elaborate), and crashed early for the day ahead.

Thursday was marred by our not wanting to leave. Kari had her English Breakfast again, and we had Cinnamon rolls, our favorite fruit platter again, and for our final main course, a breakfast casserole thing with eggs, bacon, cheese, and scallions. We packed up, said our goodbyes, and hit the road. On the way back we hit some fireworks stores (Kari was moody about that), some rest stops to try and find elongated pennies (none till NJ), and of course Sheetz for some grub, gas, and a carwash. We made it home in great time and met my Dad as he was leaving. We finally got Chinese food for dinner and started cleaning up the house a little.

Friday we woke up for a day of running around. We hit Kari's Optician, AutoZone, carwash for her car, DMV, a coin store in Freehold (owner was out so we couldn't even look at coins), Quiznos, then back to the ranch to get some painting supplies from our great neighbors. We needed a few more things, so we went to Lowe’s and then started painting.

Saturday we were supposed to go up and help Kari's sister move. But due to her being completely out of communication with everyone, it was abandoned. So Kari and I went back and started to paint. After that, we fed the horses, and headed out to dinner with Danielle and John at the Olive Garden. Except for the bad waitress who literally seemed afraid of our table, and the fact that John stole the cheese grater I wanted to steal (grumble), it was great. Kari and I went home and crashed hard. Kari received some good news in the mail and we went to bed.

Sunday was normal work on the farm day. It was very sad as Kari had to leave, and for the rest of the night, I cleaned/did laundry/missed Kari.

OK, that was about it. I have to goto work again today, so I'll talk to you all later.

And it has. Where to begin, where to begin. Well, this weekend was snow. Glorious snow.

Monday:
The snow today, unfortuntally, was ice. Which I found when I went to walk to the train. I busted my ass as well as my special "dark glasses". I took a pair of my old sunglasses and painted them black on the inside so that when I'm on the train in the morning, the light on the train doesn't bother me, because they keep it bright. Before that, I actually had no problems GETTING to the train station. Getting into my car was tough, and because I left my new scraper in the house, I had no way of opening my car doors, which freeze shut when it snows.

Sunday:
Woke to a winter wonderland. Felt the cold when I lifted the sheet. Hit snooze. Repeat about 5 times, before I finally got my rear in gear. Went downstairs, made some food, and then went out to feed the horses. Fed them, and started putting some out in the snow and decided to do a quick pick. But first, I needed to get me some Coffee. So I dug out the car, and started it up and after doing a few loops in the driveway to get my ruts in, I went down to Cumberland Farms. On the way, I had some jackass driving 20 feet off my tail. While it was still snowing. So I tapped my brakes at him a few times, but he didn't get the hint. So I hit them a little harder, and after he saw me fishtail, I think he realized he should stay back a little. Of course, the idiot was going to the same place I was, but as I walked in, he wouldn't look me in the eye. I refrained from yelling at him, and got my coffee. Went back and did a quick pick. After feeding everyone again, and bringing everyone in, I finally went inside for a well deserved shower. I got out, putzed around the house a little, cooked, did laundry, feed and brushed stinky, abused asha (kidding), and watched TV while talking to my baby. Afterwards, I curled into bed with a better smelling dog, and drifted off to sleep.

Saturday:
Slept in. Woke up, decided not to get my tires rotated in favor of doing it next weekend while Kari is here. Went to Harbor Freight and got some supplies. Came home, made dinner, fed the horses. Then I went upstairs. I decided to put together Kari's desk and bookshelf. Three hours, a lot of glue, some moderate swearing, and one full cell battery later, I had them both done. I still have some fine tuning to do, but that is done.

Not much before that. Just the regular stuff of my life. I booked our room in NY for our three days away. I can't wait. I have Kari planning a basic itinerary, and also collecting 1978 pennies so that I can smash some at the rest stops along the way.

Man, has it ever. The worst part is, at home, i have my LJ program sitting there with like half an entry and I have just not been motivated enough to fill it out. Bad John. I knew it was time when I was no longer on kari's freinds page.

So recapping. Nothing much has gone on in the way of work. I'm still running low on sleep. My damn toe has gone ingrown again and it hurts. I got to see Kari this weekend, and that made me mad happy. The only thing better than that is when I think about the romantic get-away I want to go on with her. OMG it is sooooo needed. I go all relaxed when I think about it. A nice drive out to where we have to go. Kari, being my navigator. Stopping in truck stops for bathroom breaks and to catch some snacks. Arriving at the place and checking in. Getting some well deserved sleep. Waking up next to the love of my life. Curling up next to a warm fire stretched out on a rug with her by my side. Sitting on a porch all bundled up with some hot cocoa in our hands. Being far away from ANY distractions. Possibly jumping into a big bathtub/jaquzzi with kari and just bsing while being massaged by pulsating jets and steamy water. There's just so many places to choose from, and I don't know which to choose. Maybe later I'll post the links to the places websites and maybe we can have an online poll.

The weekend was good. Kari and I got some alone time. We saw each others families. We baked cakes and also made some bacon on a few occasions. We also hung out Saturday night at Danielles SWEEEEEET house. It was good. The coffee was good, the food was good. Cranium was good. Mau was.....I'm not allowed to say.

OK, that's all I have for now. I must return my mind to the world of work. have a good one.

Mythbusters
So I finally got a chance to recap my weekend. I went down on Friday to spend the weekend with my baby. I also had to give her the big part of my Anniversary present. Last year, I got her a promise ring with "I love You" written around the edge. I decided to have it re-done by this cool company I found online. They make this replica of the ring from one of my favorite movies "The Abyss", and They also do outside engraving on their bands. So I decided to go with something a little more durable and strong, like out relationship, and had it re-crafted out of Titanium 6/4. It's the same stuff they make subs and planes and other crap out of. I also got myself the abyss ring. It's 10mm, so it's pretty big and thick. But I like it. I had a mushy inscription done for her ring, and It includes out initials and date.

So I passed out Friday night, and when I woke up on Saturday, I curled into bed with Kari and we snuggled. I started getting a bad ache for coffee, so I went out for coffee and bagels. After that, we finally got started on our errands for the big dinner. It was way smaller than before so it was a little less pressure. I made beef stew with dumplings and.... well read below to see what I made. I really enjoyed the meal and I think everyone else did, which is the most important thing. Afterwards, I crashed again, and I finally went to bed sometime round 2am I think. I woke up sunday and left early, for reasons known to me and I will probably share them soon with who they are relevant to. I got home and found out that Louie had everything done and just lounged around. I really need to take a break soon. I'm running real ragged lately, and I don't know why. I don't know if it's lack of sleep, or what. I think I'd really like to take like a B&B extended weekend with Kari, and I started looking around, but I don't know where to go, and in checking at work, there really isn't any time I can honestly take off. I seriously can't think of anything more relaxing than to spend a weekend where i don't have to worry about anything with Kari. Just curling in a big ass bed and by a nice fireplace. I also want to find a place that has a hot tub or something. OK, I have to stop before I crack and have to take a "rest period".

Tonight K is out to a concert, and judging by the Text and Pix Messages, she's having a great time. I'm just worried about her driving home tonight, but there are two people with her, and I trust one of them to keep her safe.

OK, sleepy time. Night all, respond if ya want to.
