| so what did I do this weekend? Well, Friday I took the day off to get some stuff done that I will need to do in the upcoming months. Mostly I went through my files/folders to pull the 2007 receipts I will need for my taxes which will be coming up in April. I also got a good amount of shopping done, mostly for the dinner I was going to be making for my mom on Sunday. I decided to make a brined turkey breast, along with a order of my smashed potatoes. I got home and did some cleaning and some other stuff.
Saturday, I decided it was a me day. I stayed in all day, and prepped the brine for the turkey breast. My Dad came in, and wanted me to sew a piece of his glove back on, so I pulled the sewing machine from it's corner, and did some quick repairs. After he left, I got the urge to complete the enclosure idea I had for the bottom of my sewing desk so that no oil leaks out, and no dust starts gumming up the works. I spent the next few hours making a mess around the house assembling it. I went to put it on the desk, and realized that since the hole I cut in the desk was off center by ~.25 inches, I didn't have the necessary clearance I needed to put the cover on with the legs. I took the leg off that was crowding it, and in a testament to how much of a loser I am, I was out at 9pm on a Saturday with a grinder taking metal off of the leg. I brought it back indoors, needed more off, went back out, and then it fit. I just need some "L" brackets to stick it on the bottom of the desk with, and to treat the sides of the cover, which are wood, with something to keep any leaking oil from soaking in. I also solved the problem of the low flow out to the barn, so it's a whole lot easier to water the horses again. I went to bed early, because Sunday was just jammed packed.
Sunday I woke up early, got my breakfast on, and started outside. I fed, watered, hayed, and then got ready to go to my Mom's. I had almost everything set aside and organized, and except for a pair of tongs, I didn't forget a thing. Then the Sunday curse kicked in. First, the power switch on my razor broke, which meant I couldn't turn it off. I would have let it run itself down, but that might have over-heated it, so I ended up having to open it, and break off one of the battery contacts to silence it. Now I just have to figure out how to fix it, or get another razor. I loaded up my car with all of my cooking tools and the food, which evoked a nostalgia from happier times, and started off. While on my way, I had to divert to pick up some cranberry sauce, which with just going into the store and buying it took 20 minutes, made me late. I arrived, got the oven ready, rinsed and dried the bird, stuck it with a probe thermo, and threw it in the oven. I admit I mis-judged the time it would take to cook, and made the potatoes too soon, but they were still good. The turkey decided to crawl it's last 15 degrees, but it was finally done. Everyone said it tasted good, but I think it could have used more sugar. I helped clean the bird off, threw that in a bag for the barn wiggles, and sat down to watch the Giants/Green Bay game. Because it was so close, I didn't leave until the game was done, which was like 10:30. I got home, changed into warmer clothes, fed the horses, and came back inside to pretty much crash b/c it was so late. I still have to clean the house and do some dishes, which I may do tonight.
Other than that, nothing much is going on. OK, I should get back to work.
And now, because all of my quotes are on one of my flash drives and I never want to search for it as I write my entries,
Quote For Today: Scotty: "What do you mean, you're dumping me?" Fiona: "Scott, I just can't take all the lying and cheating on each other anymore." Scotty: "What are you talking about? Sweetie, I never cheated on you." Fiona: "I know. That's what makes this so hard." Eurotrip, 2004

| I'm kinda proud of this weekend. I managed to get over 24 hours worth of sleep, and yet still accomplished many a goal. I could have done more, but alas, my motivation was not all it could be, so I did some stuff slower than I should. On Saturday, I stirred out of bed round noonish, and got up. Made some breakfast, and went outside. I hung round the house for a little while longer, then went for coffee. After that, I finally replaced my headlights. One was burned out, the other has been acting funny. It makes you hit it for it to turn on. I would have been done like an hour earlier than I was if I had a torx10 bit for my socket set, but I didn't, so it took me some time. Got the bulbs out and there was this like grease on the harness that I felt I should remove as I wasn't sure if it was interfering with the connectors. Easier said than done. Much WD-40 and paper towels later, I had most of it out and in the off chance that it was there to protect the connection, I applied some di-electric grease to the plugs and put everything back together. It went back inside for awhile and completed some stuff in there. Then it was feeding time. After feeding, I decided to go out to pick up some stuff I needed for my overhead bike lift. I only got one of them mounted on Saturday, but that alone was an adventure. I used the ladder that has seen better days. I got up into the rafters of the old garage/new barn and tried to mount the 2x4 onto which I had screwed the lift to make it easier to move. Of course, I didn't go up and measure the space in-between the trusses, and rather than 24" between them, it was 24" from the end of one to the end of the other. So I had to unscrew the L-brackets and attach one side to one truss, and hold the other side up by hand and try to screw it in one handed all while perched on a ladder that let me know I shouldn't have had that extra helping of potatoes fro dinner. But I did get it up and now my bike is suspended in mid air. Very Back to the Future-ish. I went inside and proceeded to clean ALL the litter boxes including the kittens. It hasn't been as bad as it was as I clean their boxes about every three days. I still have no clue how two kittens make so much crap. The only snag was that the kittens had slashed a hole through their litter bag and of course, there was a mass of wet litter stuck to the bottom. But, cleaned that off, called them "evil wiggles" once again, and set them up pretty. Very sweaty and also tired, I finally hit the sack for some more sleep.
Sunday sees me waking at about noon again. I started doing some laundry, and then went outside to hang the other bike lift. Since my bike and Kari's bike have different lengths between the seat and handle bars, I had to mount each lift separately and precisely. I wanted the pulleys to rest right up against the base plates so they would be flush and not hang down too much. I started to do hers, and then Mario, Nicole, Little Mario, and two of his relatives show up. Showed them around the farm and talked about what's broken and what’s not, etc. Just as they were leaving, one of the horses cast and I was going to check on her, but she was very worked up, so I decided to wait and let her calm down. I mounted the other lift which was easier as I had learned from my previous nights mistakes. I checked on Jackie, and since she was calmed down, I saw that she was scraped up pretty good. I called my dad and he told me to put some salve on the scrapes. I did, but she wouldn't let me get near her back legs, so he came over and did them while I held her. She looked worse than she was. After that, I did some more laundry, made dinner, fed the horses, cleaned up some around the house, caught up on my tape watching, and was pretty busy up until I went to bed and crashed. Huck was happy he got to sleep upstairs as I made him sleep in the mud room so he wouldn’t wake me up Saturday or Sunday and someone else could put him out. Didn't have to worry about Asha, because unless Kari is there, she's not sure if Huck is on the bed, so she doesn't bother me. Woke up this morning, and I'm now at work. Since my partner James is out, I'm doing his job also, so I'm writing this in the few minutes break I get in-between deliveries. OK, I gotta go now. I have checks, and if I don't deliver them soon, people start complaining.

| GRRRRRRR. Someone used my computer and closed out all my windows, including what I had typed in for this entry. So I'll have to re-do it from mem. So I was commenting on the fact that all of these schools claim to have a "academic honor code" which is supposed to prevent plagiarism and cheating. If you break these policies they are supposed to expel you. But that is a load of bull. For the past like 3 months now, I have been calling and emailing Rowan anonymously at least 3 times a month telling them that Kari has been cheating on test and copying papers from someone else. But the obviously won't believe me. I have even told them I have proof, but have they expelled her, or told her not to come back until they do an investigation? NOOOOOOOOOOOO. So as of tomorrow, my house will be extremely lonely and empty. And I will have to settle for the warmth of a phone battery next to me instead of her when I crawl into bed to talk.
I mean, it's a good thing she is going. She's goin to be back in school. She'll be getting her education. She'll be meeting more people. She'll be seeing Tony. Wait, bad thing. She'll be training Al or Max or Marc or whatever the seeing eye puppies name is(BTW, shouldn't it be Seeing EYES dog instead of eye? They have more than one). Of course that is all out-weighed by her leaving me. I tried to do a list where I outweighed the good and the bad things about her living with me, to try and make me feel not so bad about her moving out. I mean, it will be good that the food budget will drop by at least half. And all the girly things won't be strewn all over the bathroom and house. And the three chores I gave to Kari (cleaning out the litterbox, doing the dishes, and taking the trash out to the trashcans) will be done regularly and without complaints. But all that is outweighed by the Bad fact that she is goin to be missing from my homelife now.
Alright, if I keep talking about this, I'm gonna end up feeling miserable. At least I know in another 8 hours, I'll get to see her, and if she did completed her chores fully (and by fully I mean ALL the dishes, including my empty Ragu jars, ALL the trash, even the bathroom and by my computer, and BOTH litterboxes) we'll be going out to our farewell dinner and also to get her speakers. OK, I gotta go.

| Hey all,
Sorry for the lack of posts, but it was a busy weekend. Saturday we were supposed to goto Great Adventure, but my hopes were dashed when I was informed we were going to a ice cream festival in TR. I don't know about you, but I was kinda piqued by my vision of what this festival would be. People walking around with ice cream cones handing them out, or possibly getting a bowl, and people just scooping it out for you. Maybe even like cute girls with whipped cream dispensers and fudge squirters. But alas, it was not like that. I will admit that I was disappointed. We went out with Ken and John afterward to the beach, which I liked except for the people. There was this little idiot kid who was waiting for the waves to wash up and started stamping his foot and kicking the wave to splash me. Now, i did not know this child, and I was drawing a blank as to what to yell at him, so i just stared at him and he went away. At least I haven;t had epihany as to what to say. I hate when you get it 10 minutes later. After we left the beach, I attended the ice cream fair in John's Ford, which I liked better. I went to Harbor Freight & Tool, and Kari drove me back to the farm. I fed the horses while she went out, hung out, and had fun with her friends some more. I stayed home and I watched some movies and tweaked the house router to block a variety of pop-up ad hosts. Now whenever one tries to display, you see a warning telling you that it is blocked. Cool.
Sunday, I crashed as long as I could. I'm kinda on back order with sleep. I have some rainchecks still to cash. But I woke up, made some lunch/breakfast of hamburgers. I was also experimenting as to what makes the best additions. I like worsctershirehsier sauce mixed in with the meat. It tastes good. After that, I showered and rode my bike down to town to the liqour store to get some beer for my beercan turkey breast. I also picked up some taters and onions, and went back and started the turkey breast. After that, I worked on some farm equipment, feed the horses and entertained the most annoying clients we have, the Deck arts. When back inside and helped Kari do the dishes and baked a cake. WOW, I really was in a cooking mood yesterday. Did my wash, and curled into bed with my baby and talked for awhile before I passed out.
And that was my weekend. And the blonde moment of the week:
Kari comes downstairs looking for her purse. I say "Isn't it on the bed?" and she goes "Don't you think I would have noticed if it was right next to me?". We go upstairs and sitting on the bed, less that one foot from where she was sitting on the bed, is her purse. She tried covering it up with the sheet, but I saw it there.
To her defense, her purse is CLOSE in color to her sheets, but still..........
