| So last night was my first night without the lovely Kari at my house for a long while. It was weird. No one hogging the sheets. And then there's her "jimmy legs". I had Huck join me for most of the night. I brushed him and he acts completely different when I brush him as opposed to Kari. I think he knows that she is a softie and plays it up when she's around.
Other than that, I did a little cleaning and I also expertly re-packaged Kari's old broken speakers into the box of the new ones I bought. I even got down to using the same tape. I am good. I used to use and old Kensington trackball and every two years or so, they would crap out. So I would just go and buy a new one and slip the old one into the bx and return it. But they made it tough. On the bottom of the box, they had this like 2 inch circle of tape that would rip the ink off the box. So you had to open it real slow and then re-attach it without fingerprints so it would look new. I always imagined the people who get the returns back at Kensington trying to figure out how a 2 year old mouse got back into the box. So the old ones go back to Circuit City and Kari gets fixed speakers. It all works out. I woke up at like 3am today for no reason. It was like hard as hell goin back to sleep. of course I had to wake up like 40 minutes later anyway. I did get to listen to music this morning. I usually use music as a way to prevent me falling back to sleep.But Kari couldn't stand it, so it was abolished in my household until she left.
I think that is about it today. Not really in the mood for some serious thought. Hell, I didn't even do any deep replies to the ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif) hptheories. It's been my home for serious HP discussions and there are some pretty good threads there.
OK, I need my coffee bad. I had my bagel today already with some apple butter. I got some extra for kari, but I decided to bring it to work, cuz I need some here too. | |

| Sorry I've been so lacking in the update dept. I just been busy. I've also been posting to a LiveJournal Harry Potter Community and I usually use my post a day from work on that. I really like thinking about these books and talking about em. I have this really crazy idea that when JKR gets block, she like trolls the internet for ideas to finish story lines. I guess also the inverse is true, that she might check the groups for ideas people have and like, goes the exact opposite just to throw people woff. Whatever. She writes pretty good books, and I will be drooling for book 7. I will put money on the fact that when the name for book 7 comes out, it will make the front page of every paper in the world.
Other than that, I'm pretty good. I'm still trying to deny the fact that my baby is leaving soon. Talking on the phone isn't the same as her being there. I mean, yeah, I can have Huck sleep with me at night, so my beds not empty. But it's not the same as having K there. I mean, Huck doesn't lick my face like Kari does. He also gets this weird look when I try to feel him up at night. It's not like the cute face Kari makes. But I will miss her.
OK, I just spoke to my darling beauty and she wants to see the fishies this weekend. I think I'll do it. I get to stop by Cherry Hill mall and I want to get my ring sized for a Ti ring based on the one Ed Harris wore in "The Abyss". I like the idea that it's hella strong and also light. I also wanna get Kari sized also to see how accurate the readings are for my ring based on her finger measurements. Cuz you can't re-size Ti almost at all once it's cut. The only thing they can do is bond a piece of metal wire to the inside and if you have it engraved, that can mess it up. So I have to be able to get mty ring size down to the 1/4 area. Like 10 1/4 or 10 3/4. I have a caliper and they recommend that you use one to like get the measurements of the ring so they can cut it perfect. So I know the size of her ring and if I measure it compared to the readings they give me for her and I, I can figure out what size to get my ring. Complicated I know, but I really like this ring, and I want it to fit well right out of the box.
Other than that, I'm pretty cool. Not much to complain about. Starting to get used to my phone, But I'd still like to make improvements. Mouth is feeling better. OK, Work time! | |

| Sorry I didn't update last nite, but Mythbusters Shark Week special was on until 11pm and after that i had some chores around the house.
All in all Mythbusters was good. Had some good JAWS myths, but I think they had a little too much filler and not enough substance. Just my opinion.
Not feeling all to "in it" today. Still reading Harry Potter:OOTP. It's amazing how much you forget, but I hope to remember it as I read it. There is literally no one in my office today and has been that way for awhile. Makes me wonder what it would be like if a majority of the population got wiped out by some non-destructive thing. I always find movies where a the population becomes zombies or something amazing. It is my firm belief that 97.5 percent of the population have no survival instincts. It's true. If you gave 100 people a shoelace, some sawdust, and two sticks, they could not help themselves. What kind of society do we live in when people can't figure out how to make fire.
I went bike riding w/Kari last night. It was fun. I have to start riding more. Alright, I think I'm gonna end it here. Except for this. Has anyone heard of a "GoogleWhack"? You enter two "real" words with no quotes into google, and it must have only ONE result. And that result has to be a coherent webpage. The words don't have to be together, just somehwere on the page like in an article or a story, etc. I haven;t had any luck, but I'm still trying. | |

| Evening all. Just finished HP:HBP and it was pretty good. The end was a little let downish for me. Not the stuff I was expecting and some of the stuff i was hoping not to be expecting. I give JK credit for her twists. Just when she has you thinking one thing, she likes to sometimes turn it around and make you wonder. I'll leave it at that until everyone finishes, and then the discussions can begin.
Point of Fact: If you go and see "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", pay careful attention to the scene w/ Mike Tevee. Tim Burton put in a little reference to the fact that the Oompa Loompa's performed the first "Macarena" in the original "Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971)". As they flip through channels, you can her the Macarena played very distinctly. And right before they do one of their dances and song numbers. So keep an eye out for it. And tell people if they say they have seen the movie. This needs to get out! if you do, good fortune will come unto you. But if you don't, consider what happened to the following people:
Zach Mathis of Boise, Iowa didn't tell his friend, and when he got up from his seat at school, his lap disappeared.
Frank Coop of CrabApple Cove, Maine didn't pass on this trivia, and when he went to his doctor two days later, he was told he had a crack in his butt that was un-repairable.
So keep these things in mind. Cuz good things can happen too!

| Morning all,
Just thought I would drop in an entry before I went upstairs for my daily fix so I can get my wheels turnin. Almost 2/3 through Harry Potter, and just thought I'd share my hopes and ambitions for relationships in this book. The good thing about JK is that even if you think something is going to turn out one way, it almost always twists in the end.
My first hope is that Luna hopefully hooks up w/Harry. I think they would make the best couple. Harry all serious and stuff, and Luna the lighthearted and sometimes silly yang to his yin. I think that it helps that she is short a parent and might bring him closer to Harry. Ginny would be a nice catch, but I see many reasons for it NOT to happen. Harry being almost a member of the Weasly's, his friendship with Ron, and the age difference. I really don't see one of the other girls in the school as a hopefull, but I could be wrong. Of course there is the chance that Harry and Hermione could hook up. Would be a very powerful magic family then.....
As for Ron and Hermione, I have mixed feelings about that. They seem to easy to stop talking whenever they have a fight or a disagreement. And that just doesn't seem conducive to a healthy relationship. I think that they might just be better off being the one each other pines for. The constant bickering does seem like they will be a couple, and the fights usually result is both sides of the issue showing themselves.

| Hey all, just re-capping what's been up since I last posted, which was Thursday morning. Thursday nite I cam home early with my father and then I started getting ready for the wedding the next day. I went to bed.
On friday I slept in till 8:30 which is hella late for me. We woke up and went to see "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" which was excellent and not as dark as the trailer made it seem. Except for the before mentioned Oompa Loompa problem, it was great. I really didn;t like the fact they used the same guy for every part. It made it very weird and distracting. But the kids were good and Johnny Depp was excellent. After the movie, we went and did some chores and then got ready( or so we thought) and took off to the wedding. After a "interesting" ride, we arrived and started to unpack and check into our room. It was then that I realized I had left my dress shoes at the house which was about 1.5 hours away. So I called my dad and he suggested "buying a pair". I went to the local strip mall which was very well-to-do. but most of the stores were ladies stores. I finally found a store that had black mens shoes, I mean, shoes for me that were black, I mean dress shoes that are black leather. They were like 140 though, So I went back to the hotel room un-victorious and said i wasn't going. To that Kari started goin nuts and knocking on people's doors and finally went to GAP and got me black dress socks to wear with my Teva's and that's how I went to the wedding. I thought I would be out of place, but there was some guy there dressed in a haiwian shirt with kahkis at a black tie optional event. So I was good to go as it was.
The wedding was nice and the cocktail hour was AMAZING. I ate a good amount of stuff, but when we went to leave, I discovered my pepto had leaked and didn;t want to take it on the shuttle with me so it wouldn't stain my suit. Well, about an hour into the cocktail hour, my stomach started telling me it wasn't enjoying the party. I thought it was just gas and tried everything to get it out but it wasn;t helping. Then, when dinner came, the smell of food made it worse, so I went out in the lounge. Coke and water didn;t help any, and even though I got sme nice burps out, I still felt bad. We went back to the table and that's when it hit me. A reversal of Fortune. Something that hasn't happened since that bachelor party when I stupidly tried to sleep in a moving car after drinking WAY too much. So I ran to the bathroom and made it JUST in time. A few breath mints later, and I had my appetite back, but of course, the filet had been taken away already. We wee there till the shuttle took us back to the hotel, where we bumped the temp down, drew the shades, and slipped under the sheets till about 9:30am. We didn't use the pool or anything, and they wanted 8.50 for breakfast so I said hell no, and decided to goto Dunkin cuz my apetite was returning. A XL french Vanilla w/ .5&.5 and 6 splenda's and a garlic bagel later, I was ready for the drive home.
We stopped at Target on the way home and got Harry Potter & THBP for ourselves, along with some assorted items and we were off home to start reading before Em's AMAZING LU-OW. The book is good so far. I had a great time there meeting some people, seeing others. We left around 11 cuz we were both tired, and went home. Today I just crashed around and read and did othe rthings while she went to work. At around page 325 now, and still goin. OK, enough for tonight. Have to sleep and read some more.
